Job Title: Electrical Maintenance/Project Engineer
Based at: Alpha-Cure UK (Northamptonshire)
Reports to: Production and Technical Director
Alpha-Cure Ltd manufactures industry leading ultraviolet (UV) Lamps, with production facilities in both the UK and China with additional sales branches in both France and Australia. We have a presence in over 136 countries worldwide through 80 dealers, 45 OEMs plus 1000’s of end-users. Due to continued growth and expansion Alpha-Cure is looking to appoint an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for working on factory maintenance and internal equipment building projects.
Factory routine maintenance, breakdown repairs and internal equipment building projects.
Working closely with the Production and Technical director and other engineering team members at the UK facility.
You will be a time served engineer with at least an electrical bias and qualified at least to ONC or equivalent in a relevant subject. As you will be expected to work within the routine maintenance program and as such will be covering all aspects of site and equipment maintenance.
Some smaller electrical installation works would be required from time to time and liaising with contractor for larger ones would be expected.
Much of the production equipment is built in house and you would be expected to undertake this in conjunction with are other engineers, ranging from mechanical assembly, panel wiring to PLC and instrument programming. Some PLC programming knowledge would be a prerequisite.
A knowledge of circuit and equipment design would be utilised, and mechanical and electrical CAD skills would be highly beneficial.
Looking for a proactive self-starter that is able to work independently and in a team environment. The role will entail switching between project builds and maintenance requirements on a regular basis so you will need to be organised to allow efficient transition between tasks.
You will have a systematic approach to problem solving to allow timely breakdown repairs, using logic to establish the root cause and how to best engineer this out in the future.
Microsoft Word and Excel, and an understanding of CAD would beneficial. PLC and instrumentation knowledge is essential.
